Wakefield Children and Young People’s Plan

The Youth Development & Support Service would like to try and encourage as many young people as possible to get involved and say what’s important to them.

For anyone interested, there is a link on their website (Wakies World) www.wakiesworld.com home page to an online questionnaire to help shape the Children and Young People’s Plan.

The Wakefield Youth Development & Support Service currently provide approximately three quarters of the funding to cover the cost of hiring school premises for our pack meetings.

Every little helps....

...but this is a huge help.

Well done to all who took part in the Tesco bag-packing session at Hemsworth last weekend. This raised a massive £600 for the Group.

AGM raises funds for Group

Thank you to all who attended the AGM on Thursday evening. We hope you enjoyed the beetle drive, cakes and squash, the proceeds of which amounted to £52.80.

The Year End Accounts for 2009/10 as presented at the AGM are available for download here in our Public Folders section.

A cheque for £120 was also handed over to the treasurer from Bag2School, so again, many thanks to all those who have helped with this scheme.

GiftAid payment 2009/10

We have received payment from HMRC Charities regarding our 2009/10 GiftAid claim. Including gift aid transitional relief and interest this amounts to £1,224.71, clearly demonstrating what a vital contribution to Group finances this benefit represents.

Easyfundraising cheque

We have received a cheque for £17.74 from easyfundraising. It's the funds that our supporters have raised between Jan 1st and March 31st 2010 by shopping and searching via our easyfundraising links.

CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA

Young people from all of our Sections have this year raised over £380, half of which is being donated to the CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA charity with the remainder being used to boost Group funds. The Beavers' Mr. Men challenge raised £68.19 for the charity, whilst the Cubs and Scouts Cheeky Monkeys supplied a further £123.37.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to all the friends and relatives who have supported these schemes and given donations. Alison will distribute the certificates when they are received from the charity.
