September sees the start of the new scouting term for all
members, new and old. Beavers, cubs and scouts will be looking forward to
enjoying a wide range of activities, including narrow boat trips, camping and
craft activities. The leaders and young leaders spend a long time ( and a lot of
energy) planning the activity programmes and are very grateful for the help and
support offered by parents and helpers on either a regular or ad hoc basis and
volunteers are most welcome.
September is also the time for our Annual General Meeting and you are invited to attend. This year it will be held on Wednesday 24th September at 7pm @ The Sidings, Shay Lane, Crofton, This is a chance for scouts, cubs, beavers, parents, helpers and members of the general public to hear about what the group has been doing over the past year, for us to present our financial report and for members to be voted onto the executive committee. If you are interested in taking more of a 'backseat' role but would still like to support the young people of Crofton, Sharlston and surrounding area then perhaps a place on our exec committee is for you. We are currently in the need of parent representation on our committee.

If you would like more information on volunteering as
either a leader or helper or would like to join the exec committee then please
get in touch. And it goes without saying that any young people out there aged
6-14 who would like to join our vibrant and active group are very, very
welcome.
