2022 Group Christmas Party

Cub Camp at Calder Drift Scout Campsite

Our cubs enjoyed a weekend camping at our Wakefield Scout District's 'Calder Drift Scout Campsite'.

Lots of activities for our Cubs, including Archery, Assault Course, Bouldering, Grass Sledges, and Camp Fires.

Scout Troop Water Activity Camp

 Aldwark Scout Camp

Our Scout troop took part in the Wakefield Scouts District's camp at the Aldwark Scout Activity Centre.

A lot of time spent on the water having fun whilst improving their Kayaking and Canoeing skills.

Cub's go Orienteering

 Our Cub pack spending the evening orienteering.

Great night Orienteering in Haw Park Wood. Bit of a shaky start with a couple of missing markers but the cubs showed some good team work and map reading skills. Don’t know who kept throwing water at everyone though!

Wakefield Scout District's Beaver section Camp

 Wakefield District Beaver section Camp at Calder Drift Scout Campsite.

Our Beaver section took part in the Wakefield Scout District's Beaver camp, a first time camping experience for many.

Activities included, Waterslide, Vikings, Bouncy Castles, Emergency services, Grass Sledging, Assault Course, Bouldering, Crate Climbing, Rope lines, plus fun and games all through the camp .

Beaver Scouts Activity Day - June 2022

Our Beaver Scouts took part in the Activity Day run by Wakefield Scout District at our at Calder Drift Scout camp site.

Many activities were explored by our Beavers, a fantastic day for everyone.

Great evening with cubs tonight in Walton Colliery doing map and compass work. Everyone seemed to get a handle on being able to set a map to north and then set their direction of travel by the end of the session.

Crofton Scouts re-opens January 2022

Here we go again.....

Its been a long wait, however we have finally made it to the re-opening of the group after its temporary closure due to the Covid pandemic.  

This is our Scout Troops first meeting back after almost a 2year break, a normal Saturday with some back to basic Scouting activities, which have to include fire building and some open fire cooking, and some team challenge activities.
